By , published on 10th October 2011

Deleting photos from iPhones isn’t as obvious as it perhaps should be. It’s pretty easy once you know how. Here’s a quick run through the method, for PC, then Mac.

Mac users – deleting iPhone photos

  1. Plug in your iPhone to your USB port.
  2. Open Image Capture
  3. Click “Download Some”
  4. You will see all of your pictures stored in the Camera Roll on the iPhone. Select one or a range or even all of the photos you wish to remove. (hold the Command/Apple key and click to select individual photos, or press Command+A to select all)
  5. Choose Edit -> Delete. The selected photo(s) will be removed from the iPhone.

PC users – deleting iPhone photos

  1. Plug in your iPhone to your USB port.
  2. Open “Computers”
  3. Under portable devices click “Apple iPhone”, then “Internal Storage”
  4. You should see all the folders with your pictures. Delete any that you wish (hold CTRL and click any you don’t want, then delete)
